Sisters in Sojourn to Adulthood (S.I.S.T.A.H.) assembles every Saturday at St. Matthew A.M.E. Church. The mission is to provide guidance for minority adolescent females on their spiritual, mental and physical journey into adulthood based on Christian and African Culture Principles; to increase self-esteem; to improve education and life skills; to prevent and decrease high risk behavior, pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and the use of alcohol and other drugs.

S.I.S.T.A.H. is comprised of six components: (1) Sexuality, (2) Family, (3) Our Community/Our Friends, (4) Our Time/Our Work/Our Money, (5) The Well of Creativity, (6) Being and Becoming Whole and Proud.

A dedicated and caring group of men, members of the Sons of Allen, spend a minimum of thirty-two (32) weeks on Saturdays mornings for manhood training from Christian and afrocentric perspectives. The curriculum includes African and African American history, the Nguzo Saba (value system), health, male female relations, career planning, economics, drumming, physical training, and self-defense.

We teach discipline, brotherhood, and leadership, and service to the community.

Who can Join: Girls, ages 11 years and older.
