Serves: 3rd Sundays at 11:00 AM
The Junior Usher Board assembles and serves every third (3rd) Sunday at 11:00 AM Worship Service at St. Matthew A.M.E. Church. The mission is to follow the leadership our Pastor Rev. Reginald T. Jackson. To work together toward the vision that God has given to our Pastor for the church. To be faithful in the position and duteous in our work. To have honor and integrity as officer in the house of God.
A church Usher is an officer of the church he or she serves. An official whose business is to introduce visitors, to walk before persons of rank to fore run as a doorkeeper.
The church Usher helps the Pastor to make the service a success by putting the congregation in the right frame of mind to receive the message. The Usher meets the people wit a pleasant smile, a worm welcome, and directs them to comfortable seats. The Usher sees to it that perfect order is kept in and around the church at all times during the services.
Ushers are forerunners-For they prepare the church for the quest, by seeing that the church is in proper condition t receive the guest, they see that fans, church literature, collection envelopes and any other things that are to be distributed to the congregation are in there proper places.
Church Ushers are doorkeepers in the house of God, and guard it all times during the service. Church Ushers are missionaries for they propagate the church spirit throughout the congregation.
Who can Join: Boys and Girls, ages 5-17 years
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,
than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Psalms 84:10
